So....you want to know why you're here?
Everyone wants to know the answer to the question "what is my purpose in life?". You want the answers but seriously, do you want to pay the price for knowing the answer? Sure, we'd all love to hear something like "your purpose in life is a live happily and without worry" or something along the lines of that. How about when God tells you "go and preach My word to the ends of the earth"? Most of us, myself included, would not be able to take on that purpose. Even worse if someone tells you "your sole purpose in life is to serve as a warning to others" - you don't even have a choice.
You want the answers?
Look for them. God gives us gifts and gifts are to be used. I'm not just talking about the musical talents or sports abilities; i'm talking about the gifts of encouragement, of teaching, etc, as well. God specifically chose these gifts for
you for a reason - that you will be able to use them. Sometimes the answer is right in front of your face.
You want the answers?
Be prepared to pay for them. You want to know your purpose
now, but will you be able to carry it out? Perhaps the reason God hasn't revealed a specific purpose in your life is because you can't handle it now. But He
has given us the great commision, and that's as good a purpose as any. As to the specifics, let Him decide when you can handle it.
You want the answers?
Act on them. It's no point knowing what you should be doing and then not doing it. If you know Newton's Second Law, but refuse to use it in Physics, then you won't go very far.
It's not very difficult, we are simply called to be the
salt and light of the world.
But that's so hard...no it isn't. Just be a blessing to those around you. It starts with your Jerusalem, then Judea and Samaria and then to the ends of the earth.
Simultaneously.
