Feels so hard to concentrate on anything nowadays...but it got me thinking again. (that provided a focal point for concentration *grin*) If it's so easy to be distracted from what is tangible, like studies, isn't it so much easier to be distracted from what really matters but is intangible?

Yeah it is, isn't it? In the midst of the world, we forget God. In the midst of work, we forget our friends. And for some of us, in the midst of friends, we take family for granted.

I realised that sometimes it's not so simple. It's easy to see when schoolwork is taking you away from God...but did you know that ministry and service can also be distractions? wait...i thought that was something you do for God? Yes, but are we doing it for God or doing it for the sake of doing it? I was guilty of this for a long time. I played guitar for worship to impress someone in church. Then i realised that that wasn't the point, so i changed (and i don't do that anymore so all you rumour-spreaders better not talk too much). It's possible for us to get so caught up in the motion that we forgot the One we're supposed to serve.

We get distracted from work by other things, but it's possible to get distracted from God by just about everything. Relationships, friends, even family. But when we get our focus right, and our hearts are zeroed to God, everything will fall into place.

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you as well.
