Somehow i always get mistaken as an arts student.

Was on the way home today and was waiting at the bus stop when a lady in her late 40s and her friend about the same age started staring at me. I overheard them pass this comment (or probably they meant for me to "overhear" it anyway): "Wah, see the arts students nowadays, so pai kia one, hair so long, then still go and dye it...kids nowadays ah..", and proceed to give me a glaring look.

I have nothing against arts students, and in fact i'm quite flattered to be thought to look like one coz they're a bunch of extremely talented people to be able to do such subjective things at as high a level as university, but why does everyone think i look like an arts student? You'd think it'd be obvious enough that i'm holding a BIG textbook that says "Physics" in LARGE PRINT on the cover. And in defence of my arts pals, just becoz you look like a pai kia shouldn't automatically mean that you're an arts student. and what's with the stereotype against arts students? Look lady, if you can't appreciate the way others can excel in what you can't, don't try to be smart and pass comments like that. If it wasn't me she was commenting so loudly about, she might just get beaten up should she pass comments about a real pai kia...then again, it takes a certain caliber to be called one, so i suppose i should be glad. =)

Sing,
Sing a song,
Make it simple to last your whole life long
Don't worry that it's not good enough
For anyone else to hear;
Just sing,
Sing a song.

And for that matter, sing your song, not anyone else's. Coz that's what makes you unique. =)
